Hello 2012

2012. The year the Mayan civilization predicted as Armageddon. Do I believe it? Yes and no. I know the end of the world is drawing closer. I mean, just look around you. Look at the state the world is in now. At the rate we’re going, we sure ain’t gonna be around much longer.

That aside, what’s in store for 2012 I wonder. I was looking forward to close 2011 nicely, and for a long while it seemed possible. But in life, things can change in an instant. And it did for me and my family. We had it all planned out for 2012. This and that. Upgrades here and there. But with that huge stone in our way, it all seems uncertain.

I feel like we’re back at square one. Back to where we began. We had climbed our way up slowly but steadily and now we’ve fallen off the rung. But that’s life.We just have to pick ourselves up and push on through.

Now we have to get ourselves back on our feet again. That’s the main priority for now. And I’m praying that by the end of the first quarter, it’ll be achieved. Once, we have gotten there, we’ll carry on with our initial plan.

Gosh, I’m really praying for strength and perseverance. I am extremely sure that I’ll be needing plenty of those and more.

Baby food

Recently a friend of mine asked me for baby food recipes. I used to make all of Eka’s meals by myself until I succumbed to pressures by they who cannot be named. -_-

Why did I choose to make things harder for myself by making my own baby food instead of simply buying them off the shelves? It all got started when I was pregnant. During that time, I wasn’t working so I had plenty of time to kill but I had not much money nor friends for that matter. So, I was always at the library and often spent entire days reading pregnancy books. That was how I came across home made baby food. I was very interested and curious.

Firstly, I’d like to point out that I am no expert. Please consult your doctors before letting you baby try any of the recipes. I’d also like to point out that the recipes were taken from various baby books. You don’t purchase those books. Just visit your nearest public library or google them.

Before you get started, there are a couple of things that you will need. Let's note a few things here. You don't have to get so many things. It's all really up to you. You can go on all out or just make do with what you have at home.

I think that the Avent Steamer & Blender is heavenly. You can steam the food and blend it afterwards! No hassle and definitely no mess!

You will see many kinds of baby food maker at Kiddy Palace / Mothercare. You can get those too.

Did I use any of the fancy stuff? Nope, I just made do with what I had. What I found useful were:

You will be using a lot of the blender until your baby is able to chew and take semi solids.

When Eka was able to take semi-solids I used the potato masher. It was a lot easier and faster. Sometimes, I just use a fork. =)

You'll also need a sieve to drain away the excess water. Seriously, why buy fancy equipment when you can use all that is already available at home? It's a no brainer really.

Yup, that was about all I used to prepare the food. Besides the pots and pans la. The most important thing is storage? How and where do you store the food? Most baby food can be stored in the freezer for up to three months. If you don't believe me, you can check it out yourself.

Most people store their baby food like this at first when baby isn't eating that much:

Yup, in ice cube trays! And the picture on the right, that's how the food looks like when frozen.

So, come meal time, all you have to do is, take the number of cubes that you need and just pop them into the microwave. I wasn't able to do this neat trick as my mother in law needed the space for her frozen food. So, what I did was to store the food in small microwaveable plastic containers. Remember to always get the microwaveable containers so that you can pop them straight into the microwave. Lesser things to clean up!

When I was buying the little plastic containers, I only bought those that came in bundles. Those that were 3 for $2 kind of deal. I bought many of the containers from Japan Home, Ikea and Daiso.

You know, those Heinz and Gerbers' bottles? Don't throw them if you have it. Reuse them!

That's what I did to those bottles.

Remember to label every container. You won't be able to remember what you cooked a few weeks later.

Write down the name of the food and date that it was prepared. One more thing, you don't have to get fancy labels. See the picture on the left? Just use tape and permanent marker. It'll suffice.

So, let's move on to those recipes, yeah?

I'll make it very easy and brief for everybody.

Fruits like papaya, banana. Just mash them up.
Boil and mash potatoes, sweet potatoes.
Papaya and tofu goes well with each other. ( Please note that this cannot be frozen and must be consumed within 3 days and that it is recommended for babies above 8 months.)
Mango and banana.
Fruits like apples and pears is best blended. Make sure you get the sweet ones too.
Carrots. My son loves it! It goes well with tofu too.
Boil carrots and potatoes. Mash them with sweet corn. You may have to peel the skin off the sweet corn. Depends on your baby.
The Gerber stars can be given as cereal. Just Add baby's milk.

Notice that these are very simple and basic recipes. I'll post the more complicated ones next time.

Raya 2011

It's mid September already? Three more months and the year would end. Time really does fly us by.

We celebrated the coming of the Eid aka Hari Raya! This was of course, the first time we celebrate it as a family. And me as a married woman.

The preparations were many! Getting our clothes tailored, finding the right pair of heels and blah blah blah.

I didn't have much excitement for Raya. Actually, I never do. I have always felt that for Raya, so much unneccesary money is spent. My family has always done things the simlly way when it comes to Raya. We don't get our Kurungs tailored. In fact, we just buy them off the rack. But, his family is different. Completely different. Everything has to be big and blinged. Which was why I relented to getting kurungs tailored. If you look at the pictures and if you knew me well enough, you'd know that I don't normally wear that kind of kurung. I like the simple, traditional kurungs. But it's alright, no harm trying something new right. I have to admit though. the kurungs turned out beautiful although it was kinda uncomfortable wearing it. And my movements were pretty restricted too.

Getting ready took a new record of three freaking hours. Like WOAH and WTF. I have never taken that long to get ready. Never ever. I got my hair done and that took like an hour to do. Then the makeup. If you have lots of skin imperfection like I do, make up is bound to take ten thousand light years. OMG, I tell you..My make up felt so beated on!

We wasted half the day at home waiting for guests who promised to come but went back on their word. Only managed to make my way to Tampines to see Dad's side at about 4pm. Super late! Which was why I didn't get to see most of my relatives.

A lot of money was spent on cab fares. See, that's why I don't really like Raya. So many places to go to in such a short time. I don't have a lot of pictures because I lost my camera during one of the house calls. WTF sia. My camera was barely a month old. Sigh.

Finally managed to find time to squeeze an update.

Alright, you caught me there.

I wasn't buzy, merely lazy.

For those who's unaware, the fasting month (Ramadan) is here.

Blergh! Here I am at 21 years of age and still can't fast.

I see 10 year olds who complete their fasting month like it's no mean feat.

Pathetic aren't I? This year, I told myself I must try to fast.

If not in full then at least half and if I did,

I shall reward myself with a new bag.

So far, I've only fasted 2 out of 12 days. -__-

I'm exhausted.

Eka fell sick few weeks bad and it was bad.

We had to bring him to the hospital.

He wasn having high fever, wasn't eating or taking his milk,

frequently vomited and rarely wet his diaper.

The worst of it all was when I discovered that he was wheezing.

When we got to the hospital, Eka was diagnosed with Upper respiratory Infection

which could lead to bronchitis.

He was given the nebulizer and that was so heart wrenching for me.

To hear his pleading cries of "Mama no" broke my heart.

We were glad however that he was not warded.

He's much bette now.

Through all that pain, three more teeth appeared!

I saw another tooth popping out yesterday.

Oh my. Here we go again.

I got a new camera. Nothing fancy.

I grabbed it at the Audio House IT sale held at Suntec Convention Center.

The only reason I bought was because it was soo cheap. $129.

Besides, I need a new camera or Raya.

Don't wanna miss out on any of Eka's moments.

Also, we went to catch the fireworks at SIL's place.

We borrowed her access cards and went to the sky garden.

We could onyl go up the one on the 26th floor as the one on the 50th floor was only opened to those who were successful in their balloting exercise.

I went with the girls. It was exactly like last year's except that Kida wasn't able to join us

and Faz has a new BF.

I remember we were discussing names for Eka last year.

I was heavily pregnant then and was almost due.

That was also the first time Wandy met the girls.

I was very surprised that they got along very well.

One year on, and we've all become such great friends.

If it wasn't for Eka, I wouldn't even be talking to these girls.

Well, we're now gearing up for Raya.

I must say though, the spring cleaning still has not been done.

When I moved in after marriage, some of my stuff had to be placed "here and there" temporary.

Five months on and they're still there.

With no proper space. Really have to get down to it.

Need to grab some shelves and storage organizers from IKEA.

I also need to convince Wandy to allow me to display my massive earrings and shoe collections.

I hope FIL gives us the 'grant'.

I'd really like a new bigger bed and for Eka to have his own bed/cot.

He's too big to sleep with us now.
And I'm tired of being kicked by Eka in the middle of the night.
Oh, you have nooo idea how much he rolls and move asleep.
Makes me wonder what's going on in that little head.

Captain America

Guess what? Yesterday, Wandy and I went to catch the premier of Captain America.

While you ladies were either left alone or forced to join your partner catch the second league of the match between Singapore and Malaysia, I had the joy of watching the movie. In 3D no less.

We caught this one at GV Jurong Point after I ended work.

No la, not like date or anything. We just wanted to watch this movie.

Anyway, we had the GV gift card so we didn't have to pay for anything.

I think that it's a really great gift to give. It could be for someone's birthday, a thank you gift or whatever la. It's like the safest thing to give to someone,

especilly if you don't know them well enough.

You can purchase the gift card at GV's website or over the counter.

It can be used to pay movie tickets and snacks as well.

Neat huh?

I didn't really like the 3D glasses as it kept slipping off my nose.

So I had to sit still and not move too much.

I prefer the 3D glasses at Eng Wah Cinema. They have way much better glasses.

The sides are pretty thick and there's plenty of space between your eyes and the lenses.

So those wearing specs, no worries, you can wear them over your specs.

But the GV one, I was a bit disappointed la.

The movie was great!

Not quite awesome but on the verge of.

I guess there were some downs in the movie la.

There wasn't much showcase of Captain America's running ability.

Now if you watched Captain America when you were younger like I did, then you'll know that it's not just about his shield. He's super strong and fast.

Sadly the movie, didn't portray it to the full extension.

I said a few downs but actually, I think, that's the only one for me la.

My most favourite part was when Captain America threw his shield and, because it was in 3D, the shield came flying right at us. That was the climax for me.

I don't want to say much about the movie.

It's just been released and I don't want to spoil it for you guys.

Oh, just to add one more thing from the movie.

Howard Stark is in the movie. If you watched Ironman, you'll know who he is.

And you'll come to understand how Captain America and the Avengers(ironman is part of the Avengers) too. Basically, if you watched Captain America, Ironman, The Avengers when you were younger,

you'll fully understand how the whole thing links with each other.

Just to add also, heehe, if you read a lot of History books about WWII and Germany,

you'll see the mentions in the movie. I loved those parts.

I love finding facts about WWII that's not usually found in the common History books.

And so, some of it is mentioned in the movie.

"Captain America: The First Avenger" will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. As Captain America, Rogers joins forces with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) to wage war on the evil HYDRA organization, led by the villainous Red Skull (Hugo Weaving.)"

I'm sure you've heard about it.

The sad passing of a truly remarkable singer, Amy Winehouse.

This post is a tribute to her.

Amy Jade Winehouse was born Sept. 14, 1983.

She was the youngest child of Mitch, a taxi driver and Janis, a pharmacist.

A young Amy reportedly sang so much

that teachers had problems keeping her quiet in school.

She was secretly signed to Simon Fuller's 19 Management in 2002

Winehouse caught the music bug from her dad,

who loved singing around the house, especially Frank Sinatra tunes.

I think that explains why her music had a jazzy/blues and 50s-60s feel to it.

Producer Salaam Remi was introduced to Winehouse early in her career.

Frank, her debut album released in October 2003, was mainly produced by Remi.

Her follow-up album, Back to Black, was produced by Remi and Mark Ronson

and featured what would become her signature single, "Rehab."

Sadly, that same year, Winehouse's grandmother died.

Family members have said they believe the death is what triggered her drug addiction. Her Back to Black album picked up 5 grammys at the Grammy Awards.

It wasn't just her music that made her famous.

The soulful singer's look was inspired by the 1950s and 1960s

and usually included a towering beehive.

Just a few months after performing at Lollapalooza in 2007,

Winehouse won several Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist.

She sang two songs during the music industry's biggest night via satellite

because her visa approval didn't come through in time for her to enter the U.S.

Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil, a video production assistant, married in 2007, but the tumultuous relationship ended in divorce by 2009.

Amy Winehouse was only 27 when she died.

Too young to die.

Transformers: Dark of the moon

The last time I caught a movie was more than a year ago.

I watched REC 2 when I was about five months pregnant.

Wandy and I got free tickets from his cousin to catch

Transformers: Dark of the moon in 3D.

I was very happy to get those tickets because

we haven't watched a movie in ages

and also because it was in 3D!

Somehow, we managed to get my father in law to watch Eka for a wee bit.

Anyway it was a 9pm show,

Eka would have been asleep by then.

Easy peasy.

I haven't watched a movie in 3D.

The last time I had 3D glasses on

was like 10 years ago when I went to some school field trip.

The sypnosis:

When a mysterious event from Earth's past erupts into the present day it threatens to bring a war to Earth so big that the Transformers alone will not be able to save humanity.

I watched the movie without reading the sypnosis

so I had zero clue as to what it was going to be about.

But I was aware that Michael Bay had Megan Fox replaced

with her.

Her acting sucks la, imo.

I think they tried to replicate the sexiness that MF has.

Somehow, with her, it just wasn't the same.

Cannot make it la.

I dunnoe, maybe her English accent just doesn't seem right in this film.

Haahaa.

Also, the chemistry between these two just did not come off as strong as with MF.

It felt, put on. Like fake like that la.

Her posh (aren't English accent kinda sorta posh?) accent just doesn't blend well

with Shia's geeky, nervous character in the movie.

Sentinel Prime. The betrayer.

Why did I call him a betrayer (is that even a word!)?

You gotta watch the movie man!

The fighting scenes were so awesome!

I don't know if it was the 3D glasses

but somehow, the fighting scenes were much clearer than

the ones in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

You could actually see every kick, punch the bots made to each other.

Also, many times, throughout the movie,

I felt like I was there, in the movie.

Like, it felt so utter realistic.

I strongly suggest you to catch in 3D.

The chaos and destruction this time was better!

There was mayhem, people dying.

It actually felt like a war zone.

Heck it was a war zone

with humans being the victims.

Also, you'd be able to hear Bumblebee's real voice.

Although for just one sentence.

In like a week's time, our Muslim friends will be fasting.

I don't know about you ladies,

but I've already begun my hunt for the perfect pair of shoes to match my baju kurung.

Why so early? No, I'm not kiasu la.

I never wear new shoes on the first day of raya.

You're going to be travelling a lot.

Walking here and there. Going to so many places all in one day!

So it's only sensible to wear something comfortable and georgous.

Correct?

What I normally do is,

I buy my shoes two months in advance.

Then I'll 'break' them.

No, I don't snap the heels off.

I 'break' my shoe by wearing them! Kasi season la.

Sunny Sunday

Wandy and I has had a crazy week.

Him having to do OT and me staying back at work to finish off assignments and product launches.

I don’t like to reach home late.

I always rush off home after work so that I could squeeze some play time with Eka before he sleeps.

He usually sleeps by 7pm but ever since I started work, he sleeps at 9pm.

So, we decided to go West Coast Park for some family time and fun in the sun.

We thought of going to Sentosa or East Coast Park

but it’d be to much of a hassle and neither of us felt like traveling down.

We wanted to let Eka play with the sand.

But he cried the moment his feet touched the sand.

I don’t know why.

When he tried to let him walk on the grass, he cried too.

Back when he was about 3 months old, we brought him to the beach

and let him touch the sand and he didn’t cry.

Oh well, we’ll go again and keep trying till he gets used to it.

So since he didn’t like the sand,

we went to a playground that was not floored with sand.

If you’ve been to WCP,

you’ll know that almost all of the playground there are sand floored.

We let him played on the red fire truck and he was so happy!

Initially there wasn't anyone else so he played by himself but after like 5 minutes,

the tiny fire truck was filled with other kids.

I’m fine with it la.

Cause they played with him too and Eka was so happy to have someone to play with.

But then came this Indian family.

Their little boy came and insisted that he was allowed to drive the wheels.

Eka and another little glirl was there but the boy just pushed Eka aside

and I was slightly irritated.

Nvm, it’s just a little kid, I thought.

I expected the mother to rebuke him but she did nothing although she saw what he did.

That, annoyed me.

I mean, come on la, what are you teaching your son?

That it’s alright to force your way through people and things if you can’t get what you want?

We left the fire truck and played else where.

We grabbed some fishballs at the Clementi West Food/Market Center

and headed home after that to eat Mama's beef rendang which was heavenly!

We went to the Zoo!

We went to the zoo about two weekends ago!

Actually I have no intention of going to the zoo until Eka is much older. I think it’ll be more fun to go there when Eka is at an age where he can understand what animals are and appreciate it more. But we went because, my sister in law (SIL) has a corporate pass to the Zoo and she promised her son that they would go. So she decided to invite us along. Why say no to a free trip right? Besides she drives so there is minimum hassle when it comes to traveling.

We woke early at about 8am. We packed sandwiches and drinks so that we could eat them later at the zoo.

I am so glad we packed food and drinks because the KFC there was soo packed!

If you don’t mind the wait, at least bring drinks along.

You’ll be walking a lot and trust me, one 500ml bottle is not going to last you long.

They do have drink carts and ice cream carts stationed all over the zoo.

Unless you’re alright with paying through your nose for a bottle of drink, go right head.

It costs about $3 for a 500ml bottle of water.

Personally, I think it’s ridiculous and didn’t buy the drinks or ice cream.

Getting the kids and ourselves ready took time of course.

We wanted to leave by 10am so that when we’re at the zoo, it wouldn’t be too hot.

We must have over estimated ourselves because we only managed to leave at 11am.

Gotta try a lot harder the next time.

The weather was so humid and hot. I was glad I dressed casually.

Wandy on the other hand, forgot to pack his flops along (we slept over at SIL’s place) and had to suffer in his shoes.

We made Eka wear his Gap fedora but he kept removing it and chewing it.

It was sooo hot and I didn’t want him to get burnt or overheated la.

No choice la, don’t want to wear don’t wear la.

Complete waste of money buying the Fedora. I told somebody not to get it.

Just but the one at Cotton On Kids but noooo, he insisted on getting the one from Gap.

We obviously couldn’t ride the tram and had to walk la.

No, the word walk is an under statement here. We tracked all over the zoo.

We went uphill, downhill. All in excitement to see the animals.

But what do they do? Sleep, laze around or hide in the bushes/shades.

WTF sia.

I came all the way to Mandai from Duxton,

walked torturous tracks only to smell your disgustingly foul feces?

The zoo smelled of well, poop. The smell differs from enclosure to enclosure.

Some are stronger, some bearable but some,

OMG, you could taste it in your mouth and almost gag.

Ugh. *shudders*

A few days before we went to the zoo, I showed him a stray cat beneath my block. I wanted to let him touch it. He was so effing excited he wriggled and kicked so much I almost dropped him. He was that excited.

At the zoo, he was simply nonchalant.

Even when we showed him the cockatoos, he simply stared at it.

Turned to the zookeeper and smiled.

A cat garners more excitement from my son then real, huge, wild animals.

I could tell Eka was bored. So how did he try to entertain himself while his parents were buzy behaving like toddlers loooking at the animals?

We headed to Marina Square for dinner.

The moment we reached the mall, Eka was all smiley.

Last Saturday, I went out my girls. We were supposed to gather all the sushimatos minus 1 or 2 . >.< It was supposed to be a Girls' Night Out. We were supposed to dine at Carousel or Hyatt's Straits Kitchen but due to unforeseen circumstances, we changed the plan. BUMMER.

I met Faz at Town first to do our shopping. I needed to get clothes for work and for going out. I had to bring Eka along as Wandy was working but we made an agreement that he would pick Eka up after work. After some shopping, we headed to Pasta Mania for dinner.

Eating there was a bit of challenge. Eka was cranky as he was hungry and so were we. He was also bored. Nobody entertained him as we were all buzy digging into our plates. We occupied him with the menu and the extra bowl. He kept banging the bowl on the table, making such a ruckus. I couldn't care less. He's a baby. Leave him be. Besides, there were very little diners there. The staff however, kept looking at us. Like seriously? The bowl isn't going to break. Quit staring. It was so rude of them. Instead of staring, why not you help me to entertain Eka? Then you wouldn't have to worry about him breaking the plastic bowl or table.

SO, whoever that wants to go out with me and Eka has to be prepared. If you're lucky he'll be in a good mood or not. Babies, they're unpredictable. Be prepared for sudden pit stops for milk and nappy change. Also, eating is no easy feat much less shopping. Be prepared for lotsa baby talking and screaming.

So, after Wandy knocked off from work, he picked Eka up. Me and the girls went to Cuppage for our karaoke session. I must admit, I have never been to a Karaoke joint or have had any interest in Karaoke. The first few songs that I sang, honestly, I felt a little weird, nervous and paiseh. But seeing the girls enjoying themselves and singing to their hearts' content without giving a damn if they sounded good or not, I relaxed and begun to enjoy myself.

I bought a flower for each of the girls. >.

All in all, I had a lot of fun with them. I knew the time they spent with Eka was way too little and they would have preferred a longer time. Well, girls, maybe the next meet up we'll go swimming with Eka.

If somebody dislikes me or hates me or bitches about me, I’m not really bothered. You have your own personal opinion of me and everybody is entitled to his/her own opinion. I respect that. But it would be even better if you say it straight to my face. I can take it. In fact, I’d much rather prefer it. But the thing that really pisses me off and gets me a knot in my thong is when somebody makes up stories about me. Saying stuff which is untrue and fabricated. You wanna say stuff like, “She’s so ugly sia, she got ugly teeth or she’s fucking fat.” or “She’s slept with so many guys she must a whore.cheap slut.” I’m not a whore cause I didn’t prostitute myself but if that’s your opinion that’s fine. Superb. But for fuck’s sake don’t spread lies about me like, “ She’s always coming home late. She confirm up to something.”
Smear my name all you want. If it makes you happy, go ahead. You bear the sin not me. I ain’t no saint but I have enough sins to last me a thousand years in Hell.

What are you trying to do? Do you really know what I do? My job scope? Have you ever asked me? Nope. You haven’t worked in years! Just because I come home late from work doesn’t mean I go out and do stupid shit. I don’t just pick up calls all day long and do nothing else. Why do you look down on me? A new direction

The past month have been pretty hectic for me. That’s why I’ve been slacking off my entries. Come to think of it, I always have. My bad.

Well, I’m back working now. About three weeks ago I started working at Civic Ambulance. My job was to answer phone calls and dispatch ambulances. Sounds simple enough. Just that on average, in every five minutes the phone rings about 3 times. So by the time I get home, I don’t even want to talk. Anyway I left the job. Firstly it’s at Toa Payoh. It’s simply too far. I start work at eight and finished at six. Six days a week. I have to get up at the crack of dawn and I reach home past eight. Go to work, it’s still dark. Come home also dark. Sian leh. The saddening past is that when I get home, Eka is asleep. Wandy has to send and fetch him from our child minder everyday. When i get home I don’t turn in to bed or watch the telly mind you, I still have to do the chores and cook Eka’s meal for the following day. Which results in me going to bed past midnight. Thank goodness Wandy is kind enough to attend to Eka in the middle of the night so that I can get some much needed shut eye. I think what really exhausted me was the commute. Taking the bus than the train and having to take another bus to get to work. I would have stayed if it was worth it but it wasn’t. The pay was simply too low! Less than 1k a month. Ridiculous la! Can get paid better else where. The boss is so bloody stingy. When I saw him driving into the company in a Chrysler I got soooo mad! I can’t reveal too much but all I can is that besides that fucking expensive car, he lives in a huge three storey bungalow.Yet staff welfare is pathetic. If you ask me personally, I’ll spill the beans on the disgusting low downs.

That aside, I have a new job. I’m working as an Administrator and Receptionist for RunningStream International Pte Ltd. It’s a boutique company that advocates real estates overseas. The office is at Tanjong Pagar. It’s just a 30 minutes MRT ride and it sure won’t beat the hell out of my EZLINK. Plus I don’t have to wake up so early and I get to see Eka. If it all goes well, I’ll be promoted to Administrator Executive. Which means I’ll be in charge of the whole office. I’m excited but scared at the same time. I have not worked for over a year. Will I be able to cope? Can I perform? Insyaallah.

For those of you who is curios about how Eka is doing, you’ll be glad to know that he’s already crawling and is now able to pull himself up to stand. He’s still trying to stand on his own but so far his progress have been very good and pretty fast! He’s trying to take a few steps forward now but he keeps falling! Poor baby. Always hitting his head. Don’t worry we’ll be bringing him for his scheduled check up next week and we’ll ask the doctor to check his head as well. He’s buzy exploring the whole house! Pulling out drawers and always always ransacking my bag! He’ll pull out all the contents and once the bag is empty, he’ll go somewhere else. The mischief he’s been up to! We’re always going, “Eka, where are you? What are you doing? or “No.Put that down.” When the house is quiet I get worried. That usually means he is playing with something he’s not supposed to. Like the other day, I was in the kitchen preparing his meals for the week ahead when I realized that Eka was no longer in the living room and the house was quiet. When I went into the room, Eka was pulling clothes and stuff out of the wardrobe.I’ve forgotten to close the doors. Kanasai la! I think he might walk by raya. Insyaallah. But if he doesn’t, it’s alright. As long as he’s healthy and happy, I’m fine.

I've been very quiet these past few months. I've left this blog to rot and wither away. Well, I've been able to find the time and means to do an extremely overdue and long update.

I still remember vividly my labour. I spent 3 days in the hospital and my labour lasted about 33 hours. It was pure agony. Wandy was there with me every step of the way. I still smile when I remember this. We were in the delivery suite and I was getting ready to push Eka out. He turned to me and said, "Let's watch the telly." There's a telly in there and so we watched it. I think he was just trying to calm himself.

The first three months were the most challenging time. I was a new mother. I've never liked babies and here I was, with one of my own.It wasn't love at first sight between me and Eka.It was a nice slow build up of love. Initially I worried that I didn't love him. But slowly, day by day ad I got to know Eka and got more comfortable with my new role, I felt the love that was in me simply gushing out. I have a very different way of taking care of Eka and it didn't quite rub well with my aunts. They felt that their ways were the best. No matter what they said, I stood my ground. Because I know that I'm following world renowned pediatrians' advise on childcare.

He's already crawling now. Soon enough, he'll be walking. Did seven months just fly by me? I cherish every day that I have with him. I now must go back to work and I'm a little reluctant to leave Eka to a child minder. But I have to go back to work in order to better our lives. And it's all for Eka. He doesn't understand now how much I love him but he will soon. I pray that my late mum will watch over Eka and that Allah will bless him with health.

Tuesday was spent with Chacha and Faz. We were supposed to watch Adlynn perform at Grand Hotel Plaza but that plan had to be scraped as we weren’t sure if we would be allowed in.

So we decided to head down to town. Where else to go right? Besides, Chacha wanted to look for her Zoukout outfit. While waiting for Faz to arrive, Chacha and I went to New Look. OMG!! The shoes! We went gaga trying on almost every single pair. I fell in love with a pair of sexy sky high heels. They remind me of the kind of heels that Victoria Beckham likes to wear. I want! I want! And I like so totally want that trench coat. The price has been dramatically marked down to a mere twenty bucks.

Chacha has her eyes set on a fabulously sexy top. And we found it within an hour of searching. I was expecting it to take much longer and having to go to many different stores. It’s sexy but not too raunchy. “ Biar sexy jangan trashy.” An advised Chacha dished out.

We chilled at Orchard Central’s Coffeebean. I tried the Double Chocolate Coffee Ice Blended. I have never tried anything with coffee there. I hate coffee but the drink was not so bad actually. Perhaps because I’m sharing it with friends? Haaaahaaaa!!!

Dinner at Burger King was on me, for the first time you know! I didn’t know they have barbeque sauce. Pathetic right? I don’t really like eating at BK because I don’t really like beef and BK is mostly beef. The chicken and fish burgers sucks. I love the Hershey Sundae pie, onion rings, chicken drumlets and Taro Turnover. Oh, just typing it makes me hungry!

Dear Friend

We met in the dream world and that world is full of so much possibility isn't it? We spoke all night. You made me laugh and smile. But most of all, you awakened this feeling in me that I have long forgotten. That feeling one get when we get to know somebody or when we like a particular person. That elation and joy, I've long forgotten what it is.

The more we spoke, the more I'm reminded of how I used to be in your position. A position where I was constantly hurt and taken advantaged of and never loved back. I remember being lost and looking for love.

Somehow you remind me so much of Atsuko. Your personality and your principles in respecting women. Although I must say you are better looking. I know that if things were different or perhaps if we had met sooner, you would make me happy as I would do you but alas my friend things are not what you want it to be.

Chatting with you made me look back and reflect. You mentioned so many times how luck my partner is to have me. That made me pause and reflect upon my relationship. I looked back to our very beginning To our courtship. That feeling that you invoked when we chatted, reminded me of the very same feeling I felt during my courtship. Then it dawned on me that I have forgotten the joys of being in love. I have been so consumed and focus on other matters. I have forgotten to love.

My friend, thank you for waking these feelings in me. I'm truly sorry you have not found your true love yet. But I believe with all my heart and soul that he is my life partner. He has loved me like no other has or can. He has given me the true joy in life; a child; my precious; my son; my babylove Eka Idraki.

Sis and I cabbed to Pasir Ris first to pick my preggers cousin up. Actually it would make more sense for her to pick us up but we had to do so cause her mother in law worries for her safety as she’s 8 months preggers. At this point I’m like rolling my fucking eyes. Seriously? And even my cousin is suffocated by her mother in law’s extreme care and concern. When my cousin came down, the cabby refused t o take her in. He said that the cab was already full. The seating capacity is for 4 passengers. There’s 3 adults and 4 children. Okey I understand. But seriously, Mr Cabby, don’t tell me you don’t want to make money? The trip to West Coast from Pasir Ris costs a good twenty bucks. I find it hard to believe that he doesn’t want to earn that amount la. I mean, c’mon, you fucking cabbys are always trying to cheat us by going the long way if we don’t specifically mention the route to travel. We had to get another cab lor and luckily we managed to get a maxi cab. I’ve never taken a maxi cab before and I like what I saw! It can fit 7 people(excluding the cabby) and it’s quite spacious. It’s not cramped and there’s a n aircon blower on the roof of every seat. The trip starts at a dollar more($3.40) than the usual flag down fare of $2.40 but I think it’s worth it. It’s better than having to take two separate cabs. Much cheaper too!

I went straight to the kitchen the moment I got there. I was famished! And seeing the spread on the kitchen table just wet my appetite further. Ooouuhhh, the sambal udansg and sambal sotong was superb(as usual) and the best treat was the satay that my Mak Mok made! Best,best,best! Even Su ate heartily. Yeah, so heartily till he ruined his white shirt. Thank God there was CK. We managed to get a good and cheap white shirt.

There was much fussing over the three tiger babies. Sid, Eka and Haziq. We’re still waiting for the arrival of the last tiger baby who is due this December! Yay! I hated it when the comparisons began. “Oh look, Haziq is so much bigger than Eka.” There they go listing the various ‘achievements’. When I was making Eka’s milk, my aunt asked why his bottle is kinda yellowish. She asked if I didn’t wash it properly. OMG I wanted to smack her face. Firstly, the bottle is tinted yellow. It was already like that when I bought it. Secondly, why wouldn’t I wash my son’s bottle properly? Do you honestly think I’m that lazy and crazy? And like, hello, I have a fucking sterilizer, okey. Haziq’s mom feeds him every hour. And he’s only one week older than Eka. Eka doen’t feed that way. I asked the mother how much is his milk and she said it’s 120ml. I was like are you crazy? Eka’s already feeding at 180ml. No wonder the boy’s asking for milk every 2 hours. He’s hungry! I asked her why she did that. She replied, “No, Similac (the milk brand) has a feeding table and it says 120ml.” I swear I wanted to slap her. I’m using Similac for Eka too, and the bloody feeding table says to feed a 2 month old baby 180ml! I didn’t mention this out loud as I didn’t want to embarrass her.

Not many of my aunts and uncles and cousins came. Just my three aunts and their family. But it was still filled with much love and joy. It was Aidilfitri to me cause I didn’t get to celebrate it as I was waiting for my due date then. Haha. I was all dressed up with heels and all when usually on Aidil Adha I’d just wear something very laid back. I can’t wait for the next Aidilfitri cause Eka can wear a baju kurung already!

I’ve been missing for a pretty long while haven’t I? You must be wondering what I’ve been up to. Well I’ve been trying to be a good mother, lose weight, keep up to date with the latest ongoing in the current world although I’m stuck at home, contemplating if I should go back to work and trying not to smack Eka’s face cause he’s so god damn cute!OMG his CHEEKS!

One day Eka will be just as tall as Faz.

So, I’ve been trying to lose weight. I’ve already lost the first 10kg. I’m now trying to lose the last 10kg. This is the hardest part. I know it’s only been two months but I can’t stand it! I have a bulging tummy. Something I never had in my entire life. And my legs are HUGE! Sigh. It gets to me a lot. I’ve never been this big and flabby. It’ll be a long while before I don a figure hugging dress or a bikini.

Then there’s work. Should I go back? I want to but at the same time I don’t want to leave Eka. I don’t want anybody else taking care of Eka. I want to be there for the little milestones. I am eyeing a certain person’s job. It sounds good.

How’s Eka? He’s fine all right. He has settled into a routine. It’s pretty laid back compared to what other mums have to bear with. He sleeps through the night, asking for milk once, around dawn. But he wakes up at 7 every morning! And he’d want to be bathed asap. It’s way too early for me. I ain’t no morning sunshine. I hate waking up in the morning. All through school and work. I just ignore Eka till about eight plus (or nine) then I force myself out of bed to give him his bath. The only reason I finally convince myself to get up is because Eka has begun to make noise. Heehee. He’s already given me his first smile and laugh. Every time he laughs it tickles my heart. And he’s gained so much weight already! Have you seen his latest pictures? He’s so round now! And his cheeks.OMG! I can go all day long kissing and pinching and biting them.

There are times when I feel like I’m not a good mother cause sometimes I just don’t know what he wants or the way I do a certain thing is wrong. Some people, I tell you, are pretty harsh about it. “You shouldn’t do that. It’s not good for the baby. Why do you do that? It might harm the baby.” I know it doesn’t harm or do no good to Eka. Yes, I’m a first time mom but don’t doubt my ability just because of my young age. I’ve checked and double checked with the doctor, read countless baby books and magazines. But I try not to let these people get to me.

“Everyone’s got their way to take care of a baby, but not everyone has YOUR baby. Only you and daddy do. You have to figure out the best way to parent your baby, no matter what everyone else says.” This saying helped me a lot. I’m the one who knows my baby best. And every baby is unique.

He's a wedlock child, a pre-marital sex child, a child borne by two people who are not yet married and to be fucking crude, a bastard child. Anak luar nikah.

Hmm..ok.True my son is a wedlock child. I won't deny it or pretend otherwise. However, does it state anywhere in the Quran that if a child is born wedlock, he/she is not halal? That the child is somehow a blasphemy? Good God, am I enraged. Correct me if I'm wrong, all children are born pure,innocent and Halal in God's eyes.

You were brought up, I believe, very well by two very nice and wonderful people. I'm bloody sure they will not approve. If you're like me, whose mother died when I was only eight and whose father did not raise, it's somehow understandable. But then, even I who wasn't raised by parents don't go around insulting an innocent child. Before this I refused to say anything. Why? Because I'm aware that you've helped me a lot and aku banyak terhutang budi dengan kau. Yesterday was Chacha's brother's wedding.

I went with Kida. And my precious Etoile of course. When I left the house, I was a little apprehensive as the Litttle Man hadn't pooped yet and I didn't want him to be making his business during the journey to Chacha's place. Well, you can't prevent nature to take its course can you. Like I predicted he pooped while we were on the train. So, we got off the train and I changed his diapers in the station. I couldn't even be bothered to waste any more time and money by tapping out of the station to find a public toilet. I even have had to change his diaper by the sidewalk and even in the supermarket. People can say whatever they want. But hey, it works for Eka. I don't want him screaming his lungs off while I search for the loo. I'm just glad that Kida genuinely understood my situation.

I like the wedding's decoration. It was a Tiffany & Co theme with soft blue and green hues. It was simple yet tasteful. I asked Chacha what plans she had for her future wedding. Seems like the lady wants to go for hot pink and black. Totally expected from her =))

The Bride & Groom

My most favourite thing about the whole event was the cream puff! Oh my gawd, it was so damn delicious. The pastry was soft and the cream just oozes out when you bite into it. It wasn't too sweet or heavy. It left a beautiful aftertaste in your mouth that leaves you wanting more and reaching out for more.

After that, we all hung out. We shared jokes, stories & experiences. Before we left, we had a mini "photo shoot". I say it was more like a bunch of crazy, senseless adults taking pictures like they never have.=)

Su and I headed to Jurong Point for my much anticipated Sushi feast! Yummy!! Then it was home for us.

It was a day well spent. Su and I had tremendous fun. I'm glad that Chacha invited me. And I'm glad I came.

I came despite the fact that I reside in Bedok and have a baby. Unlike some people.

I'm so exhausted.

Eka's acting up and I suppose it's partially my fault.

Before Eka's arrival, I read up on parenting books and most of them stress the importance of settling the baby into YOUR routine within the first two weeks. Meaning, you set the time for his wake up and sleep time. This is so that you don't go crazy due to sleep deprivation and to simply make life easier for you. Makes sense, right?

I was able to get Eka into my routine within the first week. So the first two weeks were heaven. I didn't really have to get up every two hours during the night to feed him or coax him to sleep. All I had to do was feed him and burp him then get back to sleep. And he only wakes up twice a night wanting milk or a diaper change. And the best part was that he woke up to my timing; at about 11am. Then he'll sleep the day away and wake up later in the evening for a few hours before going back to sleep at about midnight. Even when he's awake, he doesn't even look for me.He's contented to be left on his own.

I must admit, I've been bloody smug about this.

But then, I made a major mistake.

I spent a few days sleeping over at a friend's with Eka. And that totally messed up his routine! Now he wakes up at about 8am. That's wayyy to early for me. And there was something in the house.Whatever entity it was,it made Eka cry nonstop at night. Su told me it was nothing but my instincts told me otherwise. Frustrated and worried by Eka's screams, I begged Su to say the Azan and a recite a few prayers. When he did, I felt the hair on my neck stand and goosebumps breaking out all over my body. That's it, I said to myself. There's definitely something here. Eka then calmed down but I had to keep carrying him, even during the day, to calm him down. And now, he wants to be carried or to see my face constantly.

This is all my own bloody fault. My own foolish doing really. Man, I hope things get better.

The food was fab!!! But I didn't get to eat the spicy dishes. Sigh.

I can't cos I'm breastfeeding. The last time I ate spicy food, Eka kept pooping.

I didn't get to eat kueh raya as I was stuck at home. I still wana eat the chocolate cornflakes

Next time, I'll impose a time limit. 30 mins per person!

It's nice to have everyone around. It's been a long while hasn't it. Almost everyone was there.

After what she and he said/did, I was extremely reluctant to share the good news. But coming out, felt good. Getting strong support from Dan and Sis was the best. As cliched as it sounds, I now know who my true friends are.

I went swimming with Sis and the boys on Tuesday.

Sid enjoyed himself tremendously and even refused to come out of the water.

He didn't even cry when he went underwater. He was so relaxed.

Dhia on the other hand was so terrified of going beyond the steps. He was wearing the

life vest but was still afraid. Maybe I should just throw him into the water.

He's been busy working all week so I was left to my own devices. I was gaming all week long on the lappy since dad brought back some games from work. I changed the blogskin but I don't seem to quite like it anymore. Yet the thought of spending another 3 hours struggling with the damn HTML codes isn't something I look forward to.I must admit, I am clueless with all these things.

I've been so bored and lonely. Sis caught me talking to myself a couple of times at home.Oh, like how mortifying is that? Friday was payday so we went out. We caught a late night movie, Ong Bak 3. I was extremely irked to find him sleeping during the movie (given that the movie was his choice) so I gave him a great big bonk on the head.

We watched the fireworks at the Esplanade on Saturday. Oh, it was spectacular! They're like super sized magical fairy dust, don't you think. I doubt you think the same way. I think I'm simply too weird for this beautiful world (that we are currently destroying). I hope to catch the fireworks on National Day. We headed to Marina Square to stop by at MC to shop for a bit but the shop was already closed. It was only 9:30 PM. Oh, major bummer.

You toss and turn in an attempt to fall asleep.

"I just need to find the right position and I'll fall asleep for sure," you tell yourself.

45 minutes later, you're still wide awake.

You try counting sheep, making yourself a hot drink. You even empty your bladder.

And you're still awake and getting more and more frustrated as the time you've set your alarm to draws closer.

First, let's understand why sleep is so important for us.

Sleep is essential for a person’s health and well being.

It enables the body and mind to rejuvenate, re-energize, and restore. As a person sleeps, the brain performs vital housekeeping tasks, such as organizing long-term memory, integrating new information, and repairing and renewing tissue, nerve cells and other biochemicals.

Sleep allows the body to rest and the mind to sort out past, present, and future activities and feelings.

So what happens if I do not get enough sleep?

Did you read the papers on Monday?The headliner for the day was regarding this 'Container City'.

Foreign workers from a certain construction company were housed in containers instead of dormitories.
As many as 180 workers were living in cramped and dirty conditions for three months.There were no proper
sanitation; workers bathed by the nearby canal.

I was disgusted when I read about the incident.Some of you may have this mentality where by you have a nonchalant attitude toward the foreign workers.They're not locals, so why should you care,right?Furthermore,they're weird,they smell,they don't speak English, behave uncouthly and are an eyesore.After all, they are just foreign workers.

Please, get that notion out of your head.Are these foreign workers not humans just like you and me?What are they,animals or some kind of alien species we just discovered and brought back to Earth to do our lousiest and dirtiest jobs? Heck,even animals have rights these days.Prisoners in Singapore have better living conditions.These foreign workers are living in conditions worse than those criminals.

Let me explain my outburst.See, Singapore is a first world country right?We boasts many exemplary achievements and superb standards in many areas.Yet,this is how we treat other,non-local,perhaps less educated, humans?For a first world country,we sure have a backward mentality. SHAME ON US!

I know that many people ostracize these workers because they're always seen or caught leering at our women.Some of them have even molested or raped our Singaporean women.You can see them staring at your boobs/figure on the bus,train and even on the streets. I just want to point out something. These men,especially the Bayas behave that way simply because they hardly see such a constant and overwhelming display/parade of skin in public.

Women from their hometowns don't dress like us;short shorts,low cut tops,hugging and ass glimpsing dresses/skirts.They can't help it but to gawk at you.The local men do look at us too,it's just that they are more discreet about it.

Don't get me wrong,I'm not supporting their actions but here's an advise;if you're going to wear something that flaunts your figure,you are going to draw attention.
Us women, we want to look good for ourselves and for men.We want good looking men's attention.While trying to achieve that,we must enable ourselves to deal with the unwanted attention too.

Remember,no matter how far we have progressed as a nation,we mustn't let it get the better of us.It is those smelly,poorly educated,chee ko pek,weird,uncouth foreign workers who has been building our roads,houses,schools. It is them who sweeps the streets,clean our sewers and rubbish.No matter what,they're still humans,like us.

Teen involved in rugby denied probation

The teenager who assaulted a Anglo Chinese School (Independent) student after a rugby match in April this year will not be recommended for probation.

Former St Andrew’s Secondary School student, Chan Yu Tat, 16, will be remanded to assess if he is suitable for rehabilitation at a Reformative Training Centre.

Chan had admitted to punching the face of a 15-year-old student at the bus stop along Thomson Road just outside the old Police Academy, where the match took place on April 12.

According to a Channel NewsAsia report, District Judge Ng Peng Hong said he was “alarmed” by the probation report and that the teenager should be in a “structured environment” to address what the judge referred to as his “delinquent lifestyle”.

He is also accused of punching another 15-year old boy in the face at the same incident. This charge will be taken into consideration.

The three teenagers were not rugby players and attended the match at the old Police Academy to support their school teams.

The match, which ACS (I) won 8-7, made the headlines after a scuffle broke out on the rugby pitch shortly after the game.

Chan will be sentenced on July 30. He could have been sentenced to a maximum jail term of two years’ jail, a fine of up to S$5,000, or both.

A 16—year—old boy who made his schoolmates have anal sex with him will be put on probation for 36 months and perform 120 hours of community service.

The teenager, who was 14 years old when he committed the offences, has an IQ of 84.
This puts him at the low end of the average range of intelligence.
His two mildly retarded victims were 14 and 15 years old when he had sex with them.

The Court Today heard that the boy must now be accompanied by his parents whenever he is in contact with "males who are intellectually challenged".
He must attend an "offence specific treatment programme".
His parents and aunt also have to pay a bond of $5,000 to ensure his good behaviour.
The Court heard that the teenager decided to have sexual contact with his victims after he encountered pornographic gay websites on the Internet.

He approached his first victim who agreed to have sex with him after the teenager threatened to sever their friendship if he turned down the request.

The two teenagers then had sex at a multi—storey carpark at Block 603A Senja Road in the Bukit Panjang area in March 2008.The teenager had a similar sexual encounter with the other boy at a different multi—storey carpark at Block 185A Jelebu Road located in the same neighbourhood in October that year.
The Court was told that his second victim continued having sex with him out of fear that the teenager might spread rumours about him.

The crimes only came to light when the second victim told his own mother about his ordeal.

The boy’s mother told the school and staff members then informed the police about it.
Speaking to reporters after the hearing, the offender’s parents said that their son is now banned from using the Internet.
They will also work together with his aunt to take him home from school every day.

For his offences, the teenager could have been sentenced to up to 10 years’ jail, fined, or both.

I've been to NDPs at the National Stadium and the Marina Bay so naturally I'd want to go to NDP at the Padang. Besides the Padang has historical value and has held historical events in the past. Let's see what they were.

In June 1819, Thomas Stamford Raffles instructed the first Resident of Singapore, William Farquhar, to reserve the whole space within the Old Lines and the Singapore River for public purposes. However, Farquhar found it expedient to allow European merchants to encroach the reserved space as this appeared to be the only suitable site for mercantile firms and godowns, since the southern bank was then too swampy. .

When Raffles returned to the island in October 1822, Raffles disapproved of the encroaching by mercantile interests of land he had set aside for public use. Raffles immediately countermanded Farquhar's permits, put a stay on all buildings in the area and appointed a committee with strict and explicit instructions on how he wanted the town of Singapore to be planned. As the Esplanade plan had been broken, it was necessary to designate a new site for the town's public buildings. The area chosen was the Padang Besar or simply the Padang, as it is known today.

During the 1820s, there were four houses that faced the Padang, what is now the Old Supreme Court Building were two houses built in 1823 houses of Edward Boustead, and the site of the City Hall formerly the houses of Resident Councillor Thomas Church and William Montgomerie who is Residency Surgeon. In 1845, Gaston Dutronquoy moved into the Boustead houses and converted into his second London Hotel. The place became Hotel de l'Esperance and later Hotel de l'Europe and was demolished in the year 1900. The Grand Hotel de l'Europe was built in 1905 and demolished in 1935 due to financial problems. The hotel made way for the Old Supreme Court Building which was the last Classical architecture building built in Singapore. The statue of Stamford Raffles was unveiled at the plain on 27 June 1877, but it was moved to Victoria Memorial Hall (now Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall) on 6 December 1919.

In the past, Padang was referred as The Plain, Cantonment Plain, Raffles Plain or the Esplanade. In modern times, Esplanade refers to the cultural centre known as Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay and before that the Esplanade Park. Today, the Padang is a field located between two clubs in front of City Hall. After Raffles' founding of Singapore, this was where the Sepoy Cantonment was first located (hence the name Cantonment Plain), before the sepoys were shifted to Cantonment Road/Sepoy Lines area. Around 1890, the Esplanade was widened by reclaiming land, and constructed a road known as New Esplanade Road (now Connaught Drive). In 1907, the area became known as the Padang and the roads in that area were renamed. Esplanade Road was renamed St Andrew's Road and New Esplanade Road was known as Connaught Drive. Before reclamation, the sea shore was where Connaught Drive is currently located. Near the current Singapore Recreation Club, was a Saluting Battery mounted on a knoll, which was known in the early days as a Scandal Point. The paintings of the Esplanade by J. T. Thomson in 1847 and 1851 were done at this point. The Padang was threatened to be used for development several times but it was abandoned due to public outcry.

The Padang became a major recreational area when two clubs, the Singapore Cricket Club in 1870 and the Singapore Recreation Club in 1883 were established at both ends of the field. It was used for exercising horses in the 1920s and became the scene for the New Year sporting activities.

Surprisingly, the administration sector of the Padang area began to take shape only in the late 1920s, replacing houses built by G.D. Coleman. The Grand Hotel de l'Europe was demolished and made way for the courthouse in 1936. Today, the Padang is used for many events such as the National Day Parade and others as well. The Padang was where the victory parade of the Japanese surrendering Singapore back to the British, and the surrender forces by Lord Louis Mountbatten ending World War II in Singapore. The Padang is used for sports such as soccer, cricket and rugby.

The Padang has hosted several official One Day International cricket matches. It is also home to the Singapore Cricket Club

My view: I waited 6 months for this movie to be released here and I am so glad to be able to catch it on its release date.It's a very heartwarming,inspirational and it opens your eyes and let you see that not every single rich person is a complete snob. 3/5 popcorn.

I hope you spent it with your friends or loved ones,

As for myself,I didn't have a good weekend.

I had a screaming competition followed by a boxing match.

It was really exhausting but I was able to put my newly trained arms into good use.

No visible bruises but my core hurts.Like hell.

I managed to land a few good punches on my opponent

I'm craving for one of my favourite dishes- Hokkien Mee.

I can't eat it as it's cooked with pork oil.

So yeah,I can't it as it will break my resolution.

I'm finishing my course soon.I ought to be graduating in March.March 12th would be my last day in school.I doubt I'd graduate though.I have 4 pending modules.I need to re-module my Manage Training.It's going to cost me $516.The other 3 modules are giving me much headache.To the best of my knowledge,I only need to do a re-assessment of those 3 modules.That's $86 per module.But my course consultant emailed me,telling me that I need to re-module 2 of them!And it's $813 each!I don't see why I need to re-module those 2 modules.My attendance met the minum criteria of 75% attendance.And why do I have to pay?I have an MC and I gave it to her.I need to meet my course consultant urgently but it's so hard to get hold of her.She's always running off to God knows where and doing God knows what!Stay in the office!The cost of all this is giving me a heartache.It's costing me $2229 when it should only cost me $771!I need to win 4d/Jackpot/TOTO.Amacam,bet bola per?EEEKKK!!NEVER!Nanti kalah macam si arab sialan tu.Bet bola,kalah abeh hutang.Aku jugak yang bayar.OMG!How effing dumb was I?Ok,stop it woman.Quit beating yourself up.

Last week was full of laughter at school.I have officially been called the hungry ghost as I am forever munching something in class.

I wanted to go bowling but didn't get to.Instead,I watched The Blind Side with Swithart.There are 3 things I wanna learn this year;to bowl,to pool and to play poker.Yeah,aku kental.Tapi lebih baik untuk menjadi kutu buku daripada menjadi penuh omong kosong.HaaHaa.

My classmates and I went to the Marina Sands Integrated Resort Job Fair at Suntec on Friday.Wany and I applied for the Front Office-Guest Service Agent position.My first choice was the concierge though.Perhaps I was aiming too high?But they have junior position.Hmm...
Brandon was hired on the spot for the position Wany applied for!Congratulations Sexy Bitch!You deserve it.You're experience and personality must have impressed them!
The suggestion for lunch was porridge buffet.I LOVE BUFFETS.But,this one had pork.Tons of it.Sigh.It was very tempting to be honest.Aku istirfaar banyak-banyak and walked away.Wany and I had our lunch at Marina Square.
Met Farah and Leon at Esplanade and waited for the rest of the gang to arrive.We had a birthday suprise for Miss Irene Tmy aka Bak Kuah Lian.Although I think she kind of expected it.

Wany,Azy,Swithart &myself went to this place at Boat Quay to eat barbeque food which was mouth wateringly goodd.We all ate in complete silence.SHIOK AH.=]
We sat by the Singapore River and laughed & joked like mad.I almost peed in my leggings.The two sisters laughed till their eyes went into their eye sockets.>_<
HAAHAA!!It was in my opinion a great way to close the weekday and start the weekend.

This is such a long overdued post but well,I've been buzy and lazy.

How did I close 2009?

1.I partied really hard with my purplebitch and classmates.The music was hawt,us ladies were sexayy and the boys were rocking.The night was freaking awesome!

2.I counted down the seconds to 2010 with two of the most important people in my life;Suwandi(!) and Purplebitch,Wany.And her babyboy,Ayie was there too.BUNGEE BAR!>_<

I made my 2010 resolutions after much much thought.There's eight of them.Some of them includes getting a full time job,getting my insurance,saving every month(for my Degree) and to refrain from eating pork.So far,I've not touched pork since Jan 1st.It's no easy feat.I'm not going to deny the fact that I do eat it.Some people say I'm worse than those who drink alcohol.Drinking,pork-ing.What's the difference.Kalau da haram tu haram lah.And I've been working out everyday.Doing my squats,push ups,sit ups,arm lifts and running.Notice my resolution is to stay fit and not to lose weight?=]

I'm taking a new module;Manage Service Operations.It's been good.I'm running out of clothes to wear to school!So Sweetheart bought me some tops and dresses.

Esan came back last Thursday(7th)=].He's so skinny now,lost close to 10kg.He's walking(!) but slowly and uses a walking stick.He can't eat solid food or talk properly yet.

Just this Friday,I decided to chop off my side swept fringe for blunt fringe.It was a spur of the moment thing.I like it.Although I think I look like everybody else.(Booring)What does he think?He didn't know and I kept mum about it.When we met he freaked out for 30s then he was cool with it.He got me a new bag and I spilled my ink onto it! "That's so typical and expected of you.Kalau benda tak jahanam tak sah." HMPH!!

Oh,almost forgot to mention.Before 2009 ended,I swallowed my ego and emailed Atsuko.We made up,I guess.Although I'm not sure that's the right word to use.We're talking again and that's great.=]

I hope 2010 brings success in my friendships,relationships,finance and Esan's health.I hope that Allah bless you and your family with a prosperous 2010.

Praise the Almighty!!

He's wearing an oxygen mask now instead of the tubes.

And he can talk a little.

He will be moved to the normal ward soon.

I felt as if all my wishes have come true.

Wishes for My Brother

The paper cranes.
After visiting Esan,I met Sweetheart at West Coast.See,the plan was to fly a kite and then release it with all our well wishes on it.However,it rained.First,it started to drizzle and then it poured.I felt like crying.We were stuck in the shelter for a bit.The rain stopped but we couldn't sit on the grand lawn as it was wet and muddy.UGH!We finally decided to sit on the ground,right smack in the middle of the track.I couldn't care less.Since we couldn't fly a kite,I made some paper cranes and wrote all my well wishes for Esan.I taught Sweetheart how to do one as well since he wanted to.We then went to the Jetty and threw the paper cranes.The paper cranes twirled beautifully and landed on the water gently.The best part was that it didn't sink.It stayed afloat and drifted off into the sea.I prayed and wished fervently that Esan would get better.
